In the six years since I retired from my full-time career as a real estate network CEO, much has changed in the real estate business. Commission-sharing practices are undergoing significant shifts. Organized real estate has faced reputational threats. Interest rates not seen in many years have stymied market growth. “Buying” of agents as a recruiting strategy by well-funded new entrants has presented key challenges for established brokers. And technology advances caused by COVID - while advantageous - have added to the learning curve required for top performance.
Even so, companies, individual professionals and businesses serving real estate have withstood these challenges to emerge stronger than ever with their signature resilience and creativity. My goal in semi-retirement has been to pay it forward by helping practitioners navigate and conquer these business hurdles.
My 35-year history and experience through a variety of real state markets, coupled with the perspective that comes from a bit of distance, seem to attract those seeking guidance or sanity checks. And that fits right into my wheelhouse!
