Why Pam?
Who is this woman and why might her experience be relevant to your business?
As a catalyst for raising the real estate bar and a professional mentor, Pam O’Connor has overcome challenges that may mirror yours. The first woman to head a major real estate network, she retired in April of 2018 from her 21-year role as founding president and CEO of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (“LeadingRE”).
“Now I have the luxury of really studying what’s happening in the industry with a little distance,” Pam says, “and being able to focus on my passion - applying what I’ve learned and am still learning to make the lives of my real estate colleagues better.”
Pam helped build LeadingRE to become the largest global residential network, with 565 premier real estate brokerages represented by 130,000 sales associates in 70+ countries producing over 1.1 million transactions annually. Before that, she led two other residential networks, All Points and RELO®; co-owned her own Public Relations firm; managed marketing for a national condominium conversion company; and worked at WSB-TV for one of the first female television executives after earning a degree in broadcast journalism at the University of Tennessee.
Pam’s work on behalf of her network brokers resulted in repeated mentions on real estate’s “most influential” lists (Inman News, Swanepoel Power 200, National Association of Realtors), being named the sixth recipient of Worldwide ERC’s top leadership honor for the relocation industry, and being asked to serve on many boards and advisory groups, including DocuSign, Upstream, Moderne Ventures technology investment fund, and Realtor.com.
Pam has been described as visionary, tenacious, generous, caring, energetic, industrious, and inspiring…all because she cares about the people she touches and the problems that face them.
And most of all, she is a cheerleader for brokers and agents. As she often says: “At a time when many are trying to marginalize traditional brokerages as irrelevant, all I can say is ‘bring it on’. Decade after decade, these versatile, talented, committed leaders have adapted, prevailed and prospered while others have come and gone.”
